Scientific Advisory Board meeting in Berlin

In late October, STRONG convened its first Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) meeting in Berlin. During the meeting, the team presented STRONG’s research plan, Work Packages, and ongoing activities. The SAB members offered valuable insights and practical recommendations to help refine the approach and strengthen the project’s impact.

The SAB consists of Prof. James Fishkin, Prof. Jane Suiter, Prof. Nicole Curato, Prof. Volker Schneider, Prof. Brigitte Geißel, Prof. Kasper Møller Hansen, Head of the foresight centre Tea Danilov, Associate prof. Mio Fredriksson, and Associate prof. Didier Caluwaerts. The interdisciplinarity of the group has generated a vivid exchange of views.

The meeting concluded with a thought-provoking panel discussion on the current state of democracy. While acknowledging signs of democratic backsliding, the SAB members expressed optimism, highlighting the younger generation’s determination to safeguard democratic values and shape a better future. Thank you to the Scientific Advisory Board for your time and expertise!
